Erasmus+ Studio Mobility (SMS)

The program is realized through the student completing a period of study at other universities in the European Union (up to 12 months for each cycle), at the end of which the home university recognizes, for the purposes of obtaining the qualification, the educational path completed abroad.
To this end, it signs bilateral agreements with European universities to establish the number of students and teachers involved in the mobility, its duration, and to describe the commitments it assumes regarding the selection, preparation, reception and integration of the people involved in the exchanges, according to the conditions dictated by the Charter.
Studying abroad is a key element of Erasmus+. Experience has shown that it has a positive effect on participants' career prospects. It also allows them to improve their language skills, become more autonomous and independent, and immerse themselves in another culture.
Students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral programs can take advantage of these opportunities.
Are you a UniRC student and want to spend a period of study abroad?
The Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria gives you the opportunity to do so thanks to the Erasmus+ for Study program.
From the first year of studies, you will be able to spend a period of study in a Programme Country or in a Partner Country, attending classes and taking exams. Study mobility also allows research for thesis useful for obtaining the final qualification of the course attended.
There are two types of Study Mobility:
- Erasmus+ Studio Long term ( Student Mobility for Study – SMS) which promotes the carrying out of exams and/or research activities for thesis, lasting a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 12 months .
- Erasmus+ Studio Short term ( Student Mobility for Traineeships – SMP) which promotes the carrying out of exams and/or research activities for thesis, lasting a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days . This action requires a virtual component that can be carried out before, during and after through online courses, seminars, introduction and specificity of the work to be designed/carried out. The virtual component is not mandatory for 3rd cycle students.
Where can you go?
You can view the Erasmus+ Bilateral Agreements where the student will find the list of locations where to carry out the study mobility period.
How will your study activities be recognized?
First of all you will have to structure a Learning Agreement for Study , a real "learning contract".
Your proposal will need to be submitted for approval to the Erasmus Delegate of your department and to the Coordinator of your Degree Programme.
Subsequently, you will send your proposal to the University that will host you, and once you have received its approval, you will have defined the training plan to follow.
Upon your return, the host University will issue you the Transcript of records (TOR) , this document will contain your results which will be sent to the Department for recognition.
