The Erasmus programme - European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students - is the most important and consolidated European student mobility programme, active since 1987. The current programme, called Erasmus+, finances training activities ranging from education to university training, youth and sport. In the university context, the Erasmus Studio and Erasmus Traineeship programmes provide European students with the opportunity to have an academically recognised study and/or internship experience abroad.
In the "Study" section, the programme is implemented through a period of study at other universities in the Union, aimed at taking exams, or carrying out a thesis and/or curricular internship, and is aimed at those enrolled in a degree course or a doctorate course (up to 12 months for each cycle), at the end of which the home university recognises, for the purposes of obtaining the qualification, the training path undertaken abroad.
In the "Traineeship" section, the program is implemented through a period of internship or research activity for the thesis, at institutions, bodies or companies based in other countries of the Union (for a maximum period of 12 months for each study cycle), at the end of which the University of membership recognizes, for the purposes of obtaining the qualification, the training path of internship (curricular and formative) or thesis completed abroad. The internship period can also be completed in the 12 months following the achievement of the qualification (professional orientation internship), provided that the application for participation in the program is submitted by the student before the conclusion of studies.
The Department of Agriculture encourages its students to participate in both the "study" and "traineeship" projects.
The regulations of the three-year and master's degree courses provide for a bonus equal to an additional point in the final calculation of the degree grade for students who have participated in Erasmus projects.
The Department, under the care of the Erasmus Commission, organizes, close to the deadline of the calls, information seminars to clarify the technical aspects related to participation in the project. Further meetings with students are organized both before departure and upon their return for the preparation of the learning agreement and for the recognition of the CFU earned abroad.
