Purpose of the processing

The personal data processed during consultation of the portal is intended to enable navigation and is processed by the Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria in the performance of its public interest tasks and related to its institutional purposes (Article 6, paragraph 1, letter e) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679), for institutional communication activities aimed at raising awareness and visibility of institutional activities pursuant to Law No. 150/2000. The legal basis for the processing of profiling cookies or other tracking tools is the consent referred to in Article 6, paragraph 1, letter a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. 

Types of data processed

 The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. This data is necessary for the use of web services. 

This category of data includes the IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users connecting to the site, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) ​​addresses of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the server's response (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters relating to the user's operating system and IT environment. The data is automatically deleted (except where judicial authorities need to investigate criminal offenses). 

To use online services, which require authentication and registration, personal data voluntarily provided by users is used. 

The optional, explicit, and voluntary sending of emails to the addresses indicated on this site entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender's address, which is necessary to respond to requests, in addition to any other personal data included in the message.

 The University processes personal data provided by users through dedicated social media platforms, within the scope of its institutional purposes, exclusively to manage interactions with users (comments, public posts, etc.) and in compliance with applicable legislation. 

Data recipients

Data relating to the University portal services will be processed exclusively by University staff and collaborators at University offices or by companies expressly appointed as data processors, who carry out their activities within the scope of the purposes set forth in their respective contracts and through identified and explicitly appointed personnel. In such circumstances, data may be processed at the service providers' offices. 

Treatment methods

Personal data is processed using automated tools for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. 

 Specific security measures are observed to prevent data loss, illicit or incorrect use, and unauthorized access. 

Rights of interested parties

Data subjects have the right to request from the Data Controller access to their personal data and to rectify or erase it, limit its processing, or object to its processing (Articles 15 et seq. of EU Regulation 679/2016).
