Institutional Communication, Public Relations, Publishing Sector
The University's Institutional Communication activities concern the promotion of the image and identity of the Università Mediterranea, ensuring clear, transparent and coherent communication with its values and supporting academic structures in the dissemination of information aimed at students, teachers, staff, media and external public.
Through institutional campaigns, integrated communication initiatives and activities relating to the territory, the Area contributes to strengthening the bond between the University and the community, encouraging active participation and the valorization of educational, scientific and cultural activities.
Institutional communication
The Institutional Communications Sector is the strategic and operational unit of the University for the integrated management of internal and external communication. Its task is to promote the University's identity and foster effective dialogue with the various communities of reference: students, staff, citizens, institutions and national and international partners.
The Sector carries out information and service communication activities and supports the University's governing bodies in implementing communication strategies. In particular, it deals with:
- Development and implementation of the University Communication Plan , in line with the institution's strategic directions, coordinating messages, tools and times to ensure a unified and recognisable image;
- Production and dissemination of information materials (brochures, guides, informative documents, videos, digital contents) aimed at different types of users, also in foreign languages;
- Institutional marketing and enhancement of the University's identity and reputation, through targeted communication campaigns, institutional storytelling and promotion of the university's founding values;
- Communication of events and demonstrations , with the aim of promptly informing citizens and the target public about the activities organised by the University, also in collaboration with local bodies;
- Production of information and institutional material to promote knowledge of the Mediterranean, cultural exchange and the international projection of the University;
- Support for internal communication , promoting the flow of information between the various University structures and contributing to creating a cohesive and informed organizational environment;
- Monitoring public communication , through impact analysis, digital listening and feedback collection, to improve the effectiveness of messages and respond promptly to users' information needs.
Public Relations Office
It is a service provided by law ( 1 ) which has the task of promoting and guaranteeing communication between the public administration and all its users.
The introduction of Public Relations Offices (URP) in the Italian legal system is part of a broader culture of administrative transparency and growing attention to the quality of services and the relationship between institutions and citizens.
Law 150 of 2000, on communication and public information, is an important piece of the reforms started in the 90s that identified the URP as the structure dedicated to communication activities. The same law provides for two other structures, Press Office and Spokesperson, which instead carry out information activities, inserting a definitive line of demarcation between the structures dedicated to information and those used for communication.
Among the tasks assigned by the legislation to the Urp, the coordination of the institutional website takes on particular importance (L. 150/2000, Dir. Dip. Funzione Pubblica 7.2.2002 and subsequent amendments and additions - OD 7/2011).
Both the academic community and external users can send requests regarding publications or contents of the University website to [email protected] .
Requests regarding activities to be promoted must be received with sufficient advance notice to allow for the scheduling of publication, any requests for modification or integration to the applicant and the production of supporting graphic material by the competent offices.
