TOLC Notice for Freshmen in the Degree Course in Economic Sciences L-33

Please note that the new dates for the Initial Preparation Assessment Test have been published for those enrolled in the 2025/26 bachelor's degree program in Economics (class L-33) who have not yet taken it. Please note that taking the test is mandatory.

The Initial Preparation Assessment Test will be administered online from home (TOLC@CASA), managed by the Interuniversity Consortium for Integrated Access Systems (CISIA). This test, specifically for the economics sector, is called TOLC-E. This online administration method allows students to take the test directly from their homes, in a virtual classroom.

The new test dates organized by our Degree Course will be as follows:

April 14, 2026, 10:30 a.m.

April 16, 2026, 10:30 a.m.

April 17, 2026, 10:30 a.m.

April 21, 2026, 10:30 a.m.

and are published in the national calendar, updated from time to time by CISIA, which you can find here: h ttps://tolc.cisiaonline.it/calendario.php?tolc=economia

It is recommended that you register for the test as soon as possible to avoid having all available seats filled, as the tests are also open to students from other universities. Furthermore, the reverse is also true: you can register for a TOLC-E test organized by another university and then submit your test results to the academic office.

Registration for the TOLC-AV test must be completed by the deadlines set for each available date, according to the information found here: https://www.cisiaonline.it/area-tematica-tolc-cisia/come-iscriversi-al-tolc/iscriversi-al-tolccasa/

In short, you must first create your own account by registering by filling out an online form with your data: https://tolc.cisiaonline.it/studenti_tolc/user_test_tolc.php

Subsequently, you will be sent your credentials and an activation link to confirm your registration via email (note: you must first click on the activation link to confirm). Once your profile is activated, you will be able to access the TOLC reserved area: https://tolc.cisiaonline.it/studenti_tolc/login_studente_tolc.php

From here, you can register for the TOLC. Once the process is complete, you will receive a registration receipt indicating the test date. A €35.00 fee is required to register for the test, payable via MAV or credit card.

Students must ensure that they have the necessary devices listed in the “TOLC@CASA User Regulations” ( https://www.cisiaonline.it/area-tematica-tolc-cisia/regolamenti/regolamento-tolccasa/ ) and that they set up the room in which they will take the test as indicated in the document found at the following link: https://www.cisiaonline.it/_mamawp/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/[email protected] .

Those who register will be required to read and accept these documents during the booking process.

CISIA offers students the opportunity to practice the test through simulations, which also allow them to determine whether their internet connection and computer are suitable for taking the TOLC@CASA. More information on the simulations can be found here ( https://www.cisiaonline.it/area-tematica-tolc-cisia/tolc-esercitazioni-e-simulazioni/ ).

In the TOLC section of the CISIA website (https://www.cisiaonline.it/area-tematica-tolc-cisia/home-tolc-generale/) you'll find information on the various steps:

- What is the TOLC;

- How to register for the TOLC;

- TOLC regulations;

- TOLC exercises;

- The day of the TOLC.

To take the test, you must upload your TOLC application to the reserved area at https://tolc.cisiaonline.it/studenti_tolc/login_studente_tolc.php

In Booking Management, the identification document must be submitted by 10 am on the day before the TOLC@CASA (by 10 am on Friday if the TOLC is on Monday) and the photo in View/edit personal data.

TEST PROCEDURE AND TOPICS

The Initial Preparation Assessment Test consists of a test https://www.cisiaonline.it/tolc/tolc-e/struttura-della-prova-e-sillabo

consisting of 36 questions divided into 3 sections:

· logic

· text comprehension

· mathematics.

At the end there is a section of 30 questions to test your knowledge of the English language.

For the purposes of passing the test, only the sections relating to logic and mathematics will be taken into consideration, while the sections on reading comprehension and English language will be useful to the student as a form of self-assessment.

Each question has five answers, only one of which is correct. Each correct answer is worth 1 point, while each incorrect answer is deducted from -0.25 points. Questions with no answer or with no answer are awarded 0 points.

The test has a total duration of 100 minutes.

TEST RESULTS AND ITS CONSEQUENCES

Failure to pass the assessment test does not preclude enrollment in the degree program. However, students who do not achieve the minimum score (which will be established later) are subject to Additional Learning Obligations (OFA), which can be fulfilled by completing the following:

A second test. If OFAs persist, specific remedial training activities will be identified to address any identified gaps.

EXEMPTIONS

Students coming from another degree program or university who submit a transfer application and demonstrate having taken and passed an Initial Preparation Assessment Test or Verification Test similar to that required for the Degree Program will be exempted from the test.
