XXVIII Copanello conference
Transitions or regressions?
A multidisciplinary conference
The present time is marked by an accelerated pace of technological development, which is pervading every aspect of everyday life. The fundamental question—also evident in Pope Leo XIV's recent encyclical Magnifica Humanitas—is how to reconcile scientific research and the consolidation of personality, while avoiding the hidden influences of private power that are increasingly pervasive in the individual sphere. In this context, what role can the law play, and in particular, what role should states and public administrations play? Jurists and economists are exchanging views on these significant questions at the 28th Copanello Conference, entitled "Transitions or Regressions. The Legal Point of View," organized by the Administrative Law Chairs of the Università Mediterranea (Prof. Francesco Manganaro), the University of Calabria (Prof. Renato Rolli), the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro (Prof. Fabio Saitta), and the University of Messina (Prof. Francesco Astone). The topic will be addressed from multiple perspectives, across diverse sectors, from environmental and climate transitions to technological and energy transitions, examining the specific mechanisms of the circular economy and analyzing the changes that have occurred in the welfare state. The conference will take place on Friday, June 19th and Saturday, June 20th at the Hotel Estella in Montepaone.
