Entomological excursion June 21, 2026 – 9:00 a.m.
The Italian Entomological Society, the Department of Agriculture of the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria , and the Aspromonte National Park are organizing an entomological excursion open to all nature enthusiasts.
Led by entomologists from different regions of Italy, participants will have the opportunity to discover the world of insects and their most fascinating aspects. Photography enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to join a macro photography group led by an expert, where they will share settings, lenses, and tips for best capturing the extraordinary visual complexity of each species.

Excursion Itinerary: The excursion includes visits to three sites easily accessible by car:
- Monte Nardello (former USAF Base)
- Dam on the Menta
- Three Limits Falls
Useful information:
Departure: The group will travel by car from the meeting point. Difficulty: The route is not very challenging, but suitable technical clothing is recommended (comfortable shoes, windbreaker, etc.).
Packed lunch: There are no refreshment points along the route; therefore, we recommend bringing enough water and food .
Transportation and Logistics:
The organizers will only be able to accommodate a limited number of participants in their vehicles . Therefore, we strongly recommend that you bring your own transportation to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate in the excursion.
