Agreement signed for the concession of a property between the Università Mediterranea and the State Property Agency

The Rector of the Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, Giuseppe Zimbalatti and the Regional Director of the State Property Agency, Engineer Giovanni Zito , have signed the deed with which the State Property Agency - Calabria Regional Directorate - pursuant to articles 9 and 10 paragraph 1, letter a) of Presidential Decree no. 296/2005 - grants the free use of the “Ex Casa del Fascio” building to the University of Reggio for a period of six years, renewable. 

The signature of Rector Zimbalatti and Director Zito - at the Reggio Emilia headquarters of the State Property Agency - has put in writing the value of a path of institutional collaboration inspired exclusively by the promotion of educational and research purposes. 

" We thank the State Property Agency for the great availability shown not only to relaunch a series of activities already underway at their facilities but also to start increasingly profitable institutional collaboration paths. Synergies  - underlined Rector Zimbalatti  - that look constructively at the territory, to generate positive effects that go beyond the concession of a property to embrace cultural, educational and social paths that are part of the mission of our institutions. At the heart of the memorandum of understanding, a whole series of support activities for our students  - reiterated the rector -; educational and research activities through graphic studies and the development of communication proposals that involve the full involvement of the academic community in an increasingly inclusive and participatory spirit" .

For his part, Director Giovanni Zito highlighted how " this is an act of regularization of spaces and premises that the Mediterranean University already had in use; it is the completion of an administrative process that lasted a few years and also the testimony of the effective institutional dialogue aimed at a better optimization of the spaces and management of the training activities that will also be open to the public. It is the first act -  said Director Zito  - that in fact sanctions the institutional collaboration of the State Property Agency with the Mediterranean University and in general with all the regional bodies in the context of a broader process that will be completed in the coming weeks. The objective is to start the best paths of enhancement and utility on the immense heritage of the State ".
