The ARES Association visits the Aceto Agricultural and Livestock Farm Agriculture

A Calabrian excellence combining innovation and sustainability

As part of the educational and training activities of the degree programs of the Department of Agriculture at theUniversità Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, the ARES student association promoted and participated in a significant study visit to the Aceto di Bisignano Agricultural and Livestock Farm, in the province of Cosenza.
This initiative allowed students to experience firsthand a leading, cutting-edge business enterprise in the region. During the visit, future industry professionals were able to observe firsthand the virtuous combination of high-quality genetics and animal welfare, the cornerstones of the facility. Particularly striking was the use of advanced technologies, such as modern biogas plants and robotic milking systems: innovations capable of optimizing business processes and reducing labor requirements, while always focusing on management and environmental sustainability.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for direct exchange between students and industry specialists, fostering a constructive dialogue aimed at broadening professional horizons and uncovering the concrete career opportunities offered by the agri-environmental sector. This experience fits within the Department of Agriculture's strategic vision, which is increasingly focused on consolidating its active presence throughout Calabria, building strong bridges between the academic world and local businesses to enhance the future employment prospects of its graduates.
