Conference "The Culture of Tree Felling: Italian Trees for Italian Homes"

On  December 12, at 9:30 a.m., the “FS Nesci” Seminar Room of the Department of Agriculture of the Università Mediterranea, in Feo di Vito – Reggio Calabria, will host the training conference “ The Culture of Felling: Italian Trees for Italian Homes ,” an event dedicated to the strategic role of wood in the decarbonization policies of the construction sector.

The initiative, supported by Assolegno – FederlegnoArredo, aims to highlight the value of wooden construction as a lever for environmental sustainability. At the heart of the debate: responsible sourcing of raw materials, integrated design, and good forest management practices.

The proceedings will open with institutional greetings from Giuseppe Zimbalatti, Rector of the Università Mediterranea; Marco Poiana, Director of the Department of Agriculture of the University; Claudio Giust, President of Assolegno; and provincial representatives of the professional associations of Agronomists and Foresters, Architects, PPCs, and Engineers.

This will be followed by presentations by industry experts: Andrea R. Proto, professor of Wood Technology; Ugo Terzi, director of Assolegno; Giada Mete, an architect specializing in green architecture; and Stefano Priolo, an engineer specializing in structural wood design. The program also includes testimonials from the business world and an open discussion with the audience. The event will award Professional Training Credits to members of professional associations.
