Junior Professional Officer Programme (JPO)- call 2026

The call for applications for the Young International Organization Officials (JPO) Program is now open , offering 47 positions at various international locations. Of these, 14 are assigned to entities of the United Nations Secretariat and 33 to 25 international organizations, for a total of 24 locations. The remaining positions are reserved for Italian candidates and candidates from developing countries.
The JPO Program is an initiative funded by the Italian Government through the Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and managed by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN/DESA). The Program allows qualified young people to gain training and professional experience in international organizations for a period of two years, with the possibility of a possible one-year extension.

Applications must be submitted online through the "Online Web Application" (OWA) system of the UN/DESA Rome office, accessible at www.undesa.it. The deadline for submitting applications for the 2026 edition is Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM (Italian time). Applications may be submitted for a maximum of two positions.
