The Rector: "A day we dedicate to young people from all over Calabria so that, in this healthy environment, they can find the constructive seeds of tomorrow, knowing that education and a degree are authentic tools for shaping their future and for making informed and responsible choices, not dictated by clichés."

To the many young people who fill our hearts with hope today, we say: a challenging path certainly awaits you, but know that here you will find an attractive and family-friendly environment with an increasingly current training program in line with market needs.

The Open Day sponsored by the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria was a great turnout. Over 4,000 students enjoyed a day packed with inspiration and educational opportunities, curiosity, and fun, culminating in the afternoon's lighting of the Tree, a message of good luck for the holidays but also, and above all, for a fulfilling future. This enthusiastic participation fully achieved the University's goal: to engage high school students, encouraging them to pursue higher education, and to promote cultural development through ever greater outreach to the local community, gaining more detailed and direct information about the educational programs in the various subject areas: Agriculture, Architecture, Design, Economics, Law, Engineering, Nursing, Sports Sciences, and Human Sciences.

The morning program is packed with interactive lessons, innovative teaching workshops, thematic seminars, and motivational and cross-curricular orientation sessions, all featuring the interactivity typical of classrooms. Cultural, sporting, and entertainment activities are also promoted, including a concert by Reggio Calabria artist Augusto Favaloro.

In the afternoon, in the presence of numerous authorities, the magic of Christmas comes to light in the tree full of life - an event that involved students, families and citizens, designed to unite the Christmas holidays with academic excellence - and yet another beautiful moment, the "UniSchool Cup" awards ceremony which celebrated the teams and the values of sport and collaboration.

The event, which involved the entire University of Reggio Calabria - particularly the Orientation and Tutoring sector of the Institutional Communication, Orientation and Job Placement Area - was an opportunity to open the "doors" of the entire University with its Departments and Laboratories, to learn about the innovative projects and numerous services dedicated to students. " It's a day,"  admits Rector Giuseppe Zimbalatti , "that we dedicate to young people from all over Calabria so that, in this healthy environment, they can find the constructive seeds of tomorrow, knowing full well that education and a degree are authentic tools for shaping their future and for making informed, responsible choices, not dictated by clichés. The Università Mediterranea Reggio Calabria is a reality in this city that—statistics aside—is beautiful, welcoming, affordable, and convenient. All this is no small thing, because it's right that families and young people have access to public universities. We are, with some limitations but with many advantages: that of an inclusive community, close to young people and families, to the region, and to their needs. And to the many young people who fill our hearts with hope today, we say: you certainly have a challenging path ahead of you, but know that here you will find an attractive, family-friendly environment with an increasingly current educational offering that is in line with market needs. And that this is the right path,"  concludes Zimbalatti , "is also demonstrated by the constant growth of our universities." registrations: ten percent in the last year and thirty in the last three years ."

" The event offered participants the opportunity to meet professors and researchers, tour laboratories, and obtain information on enrollment, scholarships, international mobility, and disability services. It was a valuable opportunity to navigate the various degree programs and gain a firsthand understanding of university life in a dynamic and ever-growing environment,"  emphasized Vice Rector for Orientation, Rossella Marzullo . "The invitation was extended to all interested parties to discover the academic prospects and innovations that characterize and distinguish the University of Reggio Calabria . "  Despite the temptations of this uncertain time, study is and remains the preferred tool for co-constructing one's own history. Our task, our social responsibility, is to restore this opportunity to everyone, through research and the quality of student and community services, which translate into the transmission of ethical and civic values thanks to everyone's contribution."

Isabella Scardino, President of the Student Council , “As President of the Student Council, it is an honor for me to be here today and to present our programs, the University services, the facilities, and, above all, the people who experience university life every day and are part of this community.

Università Mediterranea is not just a place where you study: it's an environment where you challenge yourself, grow, discover new passions, and, above all, build relationships that often last a lifetime. The Student Council is here for precisely this: we represent the needs, ideas, and proposals of all students and work to ensure their journey is rich in opportunities and increasingly inclusive.
