The series of meetings dedicated to the Great Battles in History is underway
"The first Italian Campaign led by Napoleon Bonaparte" is the theme of the first meeting, which will be held on Monday 9 February, in the Atelier d'Ateneo
As part of the University's cultural policies, the Università degli Studi Mediterranea is offering a series of meetings dedicated to the Great Battles of History. The next meeting, which kicks off activities for the 2025-2026 academic year, will be held at the University Atelier on Monday, February 9th, at 5:00 PM.
The focus will be on Napoleon Bonaparte's first Italian campaign, an important chapter in Napoleon's personal history—"the finest era of his life," as he always remembered—and in European history.
The discussion will be led by exceptional speakers: Carabinieri Corps General Andrea Rispoli, a dedicated scholar of the great French leader, to whom he has dedicated two substantial volumes; Professor Luigi Mascilli Migliorini, a member of the Lincei Academy and one of the leading international scholars of the Napoleonic era; and Dr. Luca Gandini, a historian and co-author of the recent volume that will serve as the starting point for the debate, 'Marcia per la Gloria' (Mantua, 2025).
The event is scheduled for February 9th at 5:00 PM - Atelier d'Ateneo, Università Mediterranea.
