From May 12 to 14, 2026, the University hosted an institutional visit by the ANVUR Commission of Evaluation Experts (CEV): days of discussion on the quality of education, research, and services.

This week, the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria was the focus of an important institutional event: the on-site visit of the Evaluation Experts Commission (CEV) of ANVUR, the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University System and Research. The visit took place from May 12 to 14, 2026, and represented the culmination of a long self-evaluation process preparatory to the University's periodic accreditation according to the AVA3 model.

Periodic accreditation is the process by which the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), upon proposal from ANVUR, verifies the quality and effectiveness of teaching, research, and services offered by Italian universities. The procedure is conducted according to the AVA3 model (Self-evaluation, Evaluation, Accreditation), which includes five areas of evaluation: Strategy, Planning, and Organization (Area A); Resource Management (Area B); Quality Assurance (Area C); Quality of Teaching and Student Services (Area D); and Quality of Research and the Third Mission (Area E).

The data demonstrate a growing University. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the degree programs have registered over 5,500 students, with an increase in enrollments of more than 15% compared to the previous year and approximately 38% compared to two years earlier.

The 2025 financial year ended with a positive balance sheet, with a significant profit exceeding €6.5 million. This concrete result strengthens financial stability and ushers in a significant phase of development for the University of Reggio Calabria.

Rector Giuseppe Zimbalatti emphasized, " The CEV visit represented an important opportunity for our academic community to discuss and review the progress we've made. We are proud of the work we've done over the years to improve the quality of teaching, research, and services ."

The visit concluded on Thursday, May 14, 2026, with a final meeting with the CEV. In the coming weeks, ANVUR will prepare its final report, based on which the MUR will decide on the University's periodic accreditation. Università Mediterranea looks forward to this outcome with confidence, strengthened by a consolidated quality system and a cohesive, motivated, and inclusive academic community.
