Access to the Degree Course in Economics (LM-56)

Access to the Master's Degree in Economics (LM-56) is subject to the possession of curricular requirements and verification of personal preparation.

The curricular requirements are considered satisfied with possession of a first-level degree in classes L-18 and L-33 or equivalent, obtained from an Italian university, or another qualification obtained abroad recognized as suitable.

For candidates coming from non-economic degree classes (i.e. other than L-18 and L-33 or equivalent), the curricular requirements are considered fulfilled in the presence, in the previous academic career, of at least:

- n. 24 CFU in one or more of the following economic area SSDs (from SECS-P/01 to SECS-P/06 and SECS-P/12);

- n. 12 CFU in one or more of the following business area SSDs (from SECS-P/07 to SECS-P/11 and SECS-P/13);

- n. 12 CFU in one or more of the following SSDs in the mathematical-statistical area (from SECS-S/01 to SECS-S/06).

A margin of tolerance is permitted, with respect to fulfilling the aforementioned curricular requirements, up to a maximum of 6 credits, which can be applied to one or more of the SSD groups listed above. For the purposes of assessing fulfillment of the curricular requirements, credits earned not only in bachelor's degrees, but also in master's degrees, university master's degrees, and individual courses may be considered. If a student does not meet the required curricular requirements, they may make up for them before enrolling exclusively by taking individual courses at the Università Mediterranea or at other universities.

The personal adequacy of candidates meeting the curricular requirements will be assessed through an interview. This interview will include a presentation of their academic background, the reasons for their chosen program, and their basic knowledge of economics, business economics, and mathematics and statistics. The interview will also assess English language proficiency at a level at least B2, or equivalent, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Candidates holding an international certification (ESOL) issued within the last five years will not be assessed for English language proficiency. Candidates meeting the curricular requirements who have obtained a bachelor's degree with a final grade of 100/110 or higher will be admitted without an interview, subject to the requirements for assessing English language proficiency.
