Med_ASA Mediterranean Advanced School of Architecture
Coordinators: Prof. Marina Tornatora (UNIRC), Prof. Federica Visconti (UNINA)
The Mediterranean Advanced School of Architecture (Med_ASA), an “add-on” training program designed to improve the design skills of architecture students , takes place within the TNE-Transnational Educational Initiatives program funded by MUR.
The course activities offer a qualifying training experience, useful to enrich the academic curriculum and professional skills in comparison with European and non-European contexts.
The course can also be aimed at developing the degree thesis with international tutoring.
THEME “Space-Ground. The project for risk in public space”
The increase in extreme weather events and the resulting greater fragility of the soil make inhabited spaces more vulnerable. This highlights the urgency of defining design tools for the mitigation and adaptation of public space to the effects of climate change.
The course aims to provide knowledge and tools to design the soil in public space in relation to the themes of the environment, energy efficiency and circularity, interpreted as possible architectural operations of complex sustainability .
The program (20 CFU), aimed at students enrolled in the fifth year of the Architecture degree course for the academic year 2025-2026, consists of:
- a summer school to be held in Reggio Calabria in July 2025 (5 days);
- a series of lessons (3 weeks) to be held in Albania (Tirana), Montenegro (Podgorica), North Macedonia (Skopje);
- a mobility (max 2 months with a final workshop) in January-February 2026.
