Admission to Degree Courses in Computer and Telecommunications Engineering and Electronic and Biomedical Engineering
We remind freshmen of the degree courses in Electronic and Biomedical Engineering and Computer and Telecommunications Engineering that in order to enroll for the 2026/2027 academic year they must possess the following requirements:
1. To be admitted to the Degree Course in Computer and Telecommunications Engineering, students must have a high school diploma or a similar foreign qualification obtained after at least 12 years of schooling, and recognized as suitable under current legislation.
2. It is also advisable to possess basic knowledge of mathematics (specified in the syllabus approved by the Conference of Deans of Italian Engineering Faculties on June 28, 2006) and physics, the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, and to correctly interpret the meaning of a text in Italian, and to possess adequate logical reasoning skills.
3. Initial preparation will be assessed through an entrance exam, administered by the Interuniversity Center for Access to the Schools of Engineering and Architecture (CISIA), which includes tests on logical reasoning and verbal comprehension skills, as well as on topics in mathematics, physical sciences, and chemistry. The tests can be taken online, several times throughout the year, in the pre-accredited computer rooms of Department 3, or via TOLC@CASA, directly from the student's home. The dates, times, and registration procedures for the test are available online on the DIIES Department website (https://www.unirc.it/ateneo/dipartimenti/dipartimento-di-ingegneria-dellinformazione-delle-infrastrutture-e dellenergia-sostenibile-diies/studiare-al-diies/tolc). Taking the exam is a mandatory requirement for enrollment.
4. The entrance exam is considered passed if the student achieves a score above the minimum threshold of 13.5. Failure to achieve the minimum score will result in the assignment of Additional Learning Obligations (OFA), which the student must complete before enrolling in the third year.
