AgrariaUniRC | May 26th training meeting: Collective Catering as a driving force for territorial development

26 May 2026

The Department of Agriculture at the University of Reggio Calabria is preparing to host an important training event entitled Collective Catering as a Driver of Territorial Development, which will begin on Tuesday, May 26th, starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Francesco Salvatore Nesci Seminar Room (Feo di Vito).

The initiative is part of the department's activities related to the Food and Gastronomic Sciences and Technologies sector, which includes both the courses of study dedicated to food technologies and the various research projects carried out by the University of Reggio Calabria.

At the centre of the debate will be the strategic need to create a solid link between local agri-food production and meals served within collective catering facilities, with the aim of promoting concrete and sustainable growth of the area.

The program will feature a series of authoritative specialist presentations, including a presentation by Dr. Paola Trionfi, a nutritional biologist at the University of Padua, who will analyze in detail the role and management models of canteens, and a contribution by Professor Amalia Rosa Maria Piscopo, a lecturer in Food Technology at the host Department, who will shed light on a crucial and highly topical issue related to food preservation.
