Screening of the documentary film "The Letter - A Message for Our Earth," the Università Mediterranea celebrates Laudato Si' Week: "From Hope to Action"

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 6:00 pm , in the Sala cineforum Mediterranea , cittadella universitaria, block 4, on the occasion of Laudato Si' Week 2026, which will take place from May 17 to 24, 2026, the documentary film "The Letter – A Message for Our Earth" inspired by the Encyclical Letter on the Care of Our Common Home" published by Pope Francis in 2015 will be screened. 

The initiative is organized by the CLab_CinemaLab of the “Mediterranea” University and the Laudato si' Circle of Reggio Calabria, in collaboration with the Office for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue of the Diocese of Reggio - Bova, the university pastoral care and the MASCI, Italian Catholic Scout Adult Movement of Reggio Calabria.

The film explores how the climate crisis is severely impacting the Earth and all who inhabit it. Four voices from Senegal, the Amazon, India, and Hawaii bring the perspectives and solutions of the poor, indigenous people, young people, and nature to the attention of viewers. This documentary follows their journey to Rome and aims to raise awareness among the general public about the global crisis and the problems faced by nature and people due to climate change.
