First course for students to obtain an official license for driving wheeled tractors
Training and safety for students of the Department of Agriculture at the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria
The Department of Agriculture of the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria , in collaboration with the Joint Body for Health and Safety at Work EFEI , has started the first theoretical-practical course for the issuing of the official license for driving wheeled agricultural tractors .
The initiative is open exclusively to students enrolled in the Department's bachelor's and master's degree programs who have already passed the exams in agricultural and forestry mechanics and mechanization. The primary objective is to strengthen the technical skills and workplace safety awareness of all future professionals and entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. Upon completion of the program, participants will earn a nationally recognized qualification certifying their operational skills, significantly enhancing their professional resumes.
The training also includes a practical field phase. The practical module will be held at the University's Educational-Experimental Agricultural Farm, an ideal setting for combining scientific knowledge with practical experience.
The Department's Director, Professor Marco Poiana , expressed great satisfaction with the project, emphasizing how this initiative is fully part of the University's Third Mission activities. According to the Director, the course represents a concrete example of how the University combines academic training, safety, and practical applications, offering students opportunities that can be immediately leveraged in the job market.
