Giuseppe Zimbalatti was unanimously elected President of Coruc Calabria.

The Rector of the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria , Giuseppe Zimbalatti, was unanimously elected President of the Calabria Regional University Coordination Committee (CORUC). The election took place on February 13, 2026, with the full consensus of the Rectors of Calabrian universities, student representatives, and the Calabria Region, represented on this occasion by Councilor Eulalia Micheli.

"I thank the Calabrian Rectors Giovanni Cuda and Gianluigi Greco, the student representatives, and the President of the Calabria Region, Roberto Occhiuto, for their trust in me,"  said Professor Zimbalatti upon accepting the appointment.  "My commitment will be to strengthening the regional university system through ever closer collaboration with all local institutions and the Calabria Region. In recent years, the Calabrian University System has shown strong signs of growth, both in terms of science and in the range of courses offered. Only by further joining forces can we revitalize the path we have undertaken to further contribute to the social and economic growth of our region."

The CORUC is the strategic body responsible for planning the regional academic system, overseeing initiatives regarding educational offerings, guidance, the right to study, access to education, etc. The President's term of office is three years.
