Mediterranea Sport Challenge

With the start of the new 2026/27 academic year, the Università Mediterranea  wants to inaugurate a new community tradition: the Mediterranea Sport Challenge. 

The first edition of the event will be held in October 2026 and will see the five Departments of our University compete in the sports disciplines of tennis (doubles), volleyball, and five-a-side football, with the primary objective of strengthening the bond between the different components of our academic community through the values ​​of participation and sportsmanship. 

Each team is expected to include at least one University employee (faculty member, PTA, or similar role as defined by the University), one female member, and one male member. The competitions will take place in the first weeks of October and will allow us to select, based on criteria based not only on sporting merit but also, and above all, on conduct during the competition, the athletes who will represent our university in the CALABRIA CAMPUS LEAGUE. This tournament, launched by Co.RUC, is similar to the one held locally at our university, but will feature all Calabrian universities competing in tennis, volleyball, and seven-a-side football.

The ranking for participation in the Department's teams will be drawn up taking into account the student's university career and age.
