The new road system of the University Campus will be inaugurated on July 27th.

A strategic connection along Via Zehender will improve the accessibility of the University Campus, particularly towards the Departments of Agriculture and Engineering.

The new road system at the University Campus of the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria will be inaugurated on Monday, July 27, at 7:00 PM. This strategic infrastructure will improve connections between the city's road network and the university's facilities, particularly the Departments of Engineering and Agriculture.

The new artery completes the connection between Viale della Libertà and the university buildings by extending Via Zehender. The project extends for approximately 500 meters and offers an alternative to the Via Vito Inferiore route, helping to alleviate existing traffic and promote more efficient, safe, and sustainable mobility. The project also included the creation of 140 new parking spaces for the Engineering Departments.

The infrastructure was designed to improve accessibility to the University Campus from the north and to strengthen the relationship between the University and the city. The project is part of a broader process of urban regeneration and infrastructure enhancement in the area, helping to make the University Campus increasingly modern, functional, and fully integrated into the urban fabric.

The project represents a significant step forward for urban and university mobility and was completed under the funding provided by the "Reggio Decree ," an extraordinary investment program for the infrastructure development of the Reggio Calabria area. The Università Mediterranea, in partnership with Invitalia, has completed a long-awaited project that had previously faced setbacks.
