New services to combat addiction: useful numbers and the UniRC support network

Our University actively promotes the mental and physical well-being of the university community, supporting the dissemination of national initiatives dedicated to health protection, listening, and guidance. 

In this context, we support the initiative of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS) to activate the new National Toll-Free Number for Addiction (800 94 07 89) . The service, created in collaboration with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, offers a free space for listening and specialist support.

Along with the single number, two important national platforms are operational, designed to facilitate access to support services in the area:

  • Zerosostanze : supports the activities of the Drug Helpline (800 186 070). It hosts a constantly updated map of local services active in the field of psychoactive substance addiction.
  • Benessereinrete : a space dedicated entirely to issues related to the use of the Internet and new technologies. The platform supports the activities of the National Helpline for Internet Addiction (800 940 717).

National services are free, anonymous, and aimed at the general public, families, and healthcare professionals.

We remind students and staff that the focus on well-being continues on our campuses. The University offers a permanent University Psychological Counseling Service (SCPA) , a free space for discussion and listening, run by experienced professionals, to address personal or emotional distress or study difficulties.
