The Università Mediterranea celebrates National Made in Italy Day: a focus on ethics, legality, and regional resilience.
On the occasion of National Made in Italy Day 2026, established to celebrate the creativity and excellence of the national manufacturing system, on April 16, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in the Quistelli Aula Magna, the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria is promoting an important initiative entitled "Made in Calabria: Excellence between Ethics and Resilience." The aim is to foster a corporate culture firmly anchored in the values of legality, ethics, and social responsibility.
Through this opportunity for discussion, the University intends to highlight some Calabrian businesses that operate transparently in complex environments, becoming models of resilience and drivers of healthy economic development. The event will provide an opportunity to strengthen partnership networks between businesses, academia, and trade associations, aimed at disseminating good ethical practices.
The organization is managed by the Research, Technology Transfer, Third Mission and University Participatory Area , as part of the strategic activities envisaged by the call for proposals for the strengthening of the technology transfer offices (UTT).
The institutional greetings of the Rector Giuseppe Zimbalatti will be followed by those of Giuseppe Antonio Sofia , Director of the Casa del Made in Italy of Reggio Calabria, Domenico Vecchio , President of Confindustria of Reggio Calabria and Valentina Mallamaci , Vice President of Young Entrepreneurs of Unindustria Calabria, to open the proceedings.
Professor Massimo Lauria , Deputy Pro-Rector for Research and Technology Transfer, will provide the introduction and moderate the event. The heart of the event will feature firsthand accounts from Executive Chef Filippo Cogliandro and entrepreneur Antonino De Masi, whose presentations will precede a high-profile institutional roundtable discussion. The debate will feature the Prefect of Reggio Calabria, Clara Vaccaro ; Judge Giuseppe Campagna of the Court of Reggio Calabria; Giuseppe Sciarrone , Maritime Director of Calabria and Tyrrhenian Basilicata; and Professor Felice Arena, Director of the Doctoral School .
The event will also host an informative session on an experience on the topic, coordinated by Professor Michela Mantovani .
The conclusions will be entrusted to the Director of the DIGIES Department, Prof. Massimo Finocchiaro Castro .
