Liverpool 5G Simulator: A Realistic O-RAN-Based Platform for 5G Network Optimization and Future 6G.
On October 14, 2026 at 9:00 am in the Teledidattica classroom, Prof. Alessandro Raschellà (SMAR-TY Italia) will hold a seminar entitled: Liverpool 5G Simulator: A Realistic O-RAN-Based Platform for 5G Network Optimization and Future 6G .
Alessandro Raschellà is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Liverpool John Moores University and a member of the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies Research Institute. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Telecommunications Engineering from the Università degli Studi Mediterranea in Reggio Calabria, and his PhD in Wireless Communications from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain. His main research interests include wireless network optimization, dynamic spectrum access in cognitive networks, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Wi-Fi networks, 5G and beyond technologies, and heterogeneous networks.
The event is organized as part of the training activities of the Dipartimento D'Eccellenza DIIES project and will be hosted within the courses "Mobile Radio Networks" and "Wireless Access Networks" (Master's Degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications Systems Engineering, LM-27) and "e-Health Networks" (Master's Degree in Electronic and Biomedical Engineering, LM-29).
The seminar is also part of the internationalization and job placement activities undertaken by the DIIES Department, and in particular by the Master's Degree Programs in "Computer and Telecommunications Systems Engineering" and in "Electronic and Biomedical Engineering" and the Doctoral Program in "Information Engineering".
