Erasmus+ Bilateral Agreements
The Erasmus+ Programme provides for the stipulation of Inter-institutional Agreements (IIA) between the interested Universities, in order to be able to start the mobility.
The Inter-institutional Agreement is a cooperation agreement that regulates Erasmus+ mobility by planning the mobility flows of students and/or teaching/administrative staff, both outgoing and incoming, in compliance with the quality requirements set out in the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
Specifically, the Agreement defines the number of students and/or teachers/staff, the subject areas (ISCED-F 2013 codes), the duration, the contacts and other information provided in the EACEA model.

The Erasmus+ Interinstitutional Agreement for intra-European mobility can be signed between universities holding ECHE status. Proposals for signing must be submitted to the Erasmus delegate professors of the respective Departments , who will agree on the contents of the Agreement with the partner universities and contact the International Relations Office ([email protected]) to initiate the signing procedures.
The new Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme provides for the signing of bilateral agreements through the Erasmus Without Paper platform – EWP.
Where it is not yet possible to use the EWP platform, bilateral agreements (intra-European mobility) between partners may initially be stipulated using the Bilateral Agreement Template .
In order to activate Blended Intensive Programme projects, the signing of a Multilateral Agreement (intra-European mobility) between the various partners must be requested, using the Multilateral Agreement Template .
For international mobility outside Europe, a bilateral/multilateral agreement (international mobility) must be signed between the various partners, using the Interinstitutional Agreement Template .
