TOLC-I

The TOLC-I is the entrance test required by some universities to access degree courses in  Engineering  and  other technical and scientific courses .

There are two ways to deliver the TOLC @UNI and @CASA tests :

  • at university classrooms ( TOLC at the University )
  • at your home ( TOLC@casa )

To find out how to register for the TOLC at university, consult the page How to book a TOLC .

The TOLC@CASA has the same structure, syllabus, and difficulty level as the corresponding TOLC@UNI, but when registering for the test on the CISIA page, candidates are required to sign the regulations regarding the new test administration method. The TOLC@CASA regulations are available on the CISIA website at the following link: TOLC@CASA Regulations

Registration for the TOLC-I (also in TOLC@CASA mode) takes place online on the CISIA (Interuniversity Consortium for Integrated Access Systems) portal at http://www.cisiaonline.it and requires the payment of a fee of €35.00.

The TOLC-I consists of 50 questions divided into 4 sections: Mathematics, Science, Logic, and Verbal Comprehension. At the end of the TOLC-I, there is an additional 30-question section to test English language proficiency. The score in the English language section does not count towards the minimum passing score for the TOLC-I. The structure and syllabus of the TOLC-I are illustrated on the page TOLC-I Structure and Syllabus | Cisia online .

Please note that the TOLC-I is only self-evaluation and, therefore, the score does not preclude the possibility of enrolling in the Engineering degree courses at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria.

The entrance exam is considered passed if the score obtained is at least 13.50. Failure to achieve the minimum score will result in the assignment of Additional Learning Requirements (OFA), which the student must fulfill according to the procedures established in the program regulations. These OFAs can be fulfilled by attending the intensive refresher courses held in September 2025 and passing the relevant final exam, or by passing the corresponding curricular exam: Analysis I and Geometry for the Mathematics section, General Physics I and Chemistry for the Science section.

THE DATES

The complete calendar of dates on which you can take the TOLC-I for the year 2025 is updated on the TOLC test calendars page .

The Engineering Departments of the Mediterranean University, DIIES and DICEAM, have set the following dates for the TOLC-I (in both TOLC@casa and TOLC all'Università) for which registration is available on the website of the Interuniversity Consortium for Integrated Access Systems (CISIA) :

April 17, 2025 (TOLC@CASA)

May 22, 2025 (TOLC@CASA)

July 23, 2025 (TOLC@UNI)

September 3, 2025 (TOLC@UNI)

September 10, 2025 (TOLC@UNI)

September 17, 2025 (TOLC@UNI)

October 9, 2024 (TOLC@CASA)

The TOLC@UNI test is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. in the Engineering distance learning classroom on the 3rd FLOOR. Students must present themselves for identification with an identity document and their booking receipt no later than 10:30 a.m. on the day of the test.

Warnings for students

Before registering for the TOLC@CASA test, students must ensure they have the necessary devices listed in the TOLC@CASA (TOLC @UNI and @CASA | Cisia online) regulations and that they can set up the test room as indicated in the document found on the Room Configuration | Cisia Guides page . Registering students must review and accept these documents during the booking process.

The best way to determine whether your internet connection and computer are suitable for taking the TOLC@CASA is to complete TOLC simulations in the practice and placement area.

In the TOLC section of the CISIA website, you'll find information on the various steps:

- What is the TOLC;

- How to register for the TOLC;

- TOLC regulations;

- TOLC exercises;

- The day of the TOLC.

To take the test, you must upload your identification document to the TOLC reserved area, under Booking Management, by 10:00 a.m. the day before the TOLC@CASA (by 10:00 a.m. on Friday if the TOLC is on Monday) and your photo under View/edit personal data.
