Research
Department of Architecture and Design (dAeD)
All dAeD members, organized into operational units, laboratories, and spin-offs, conduct studies, projects, and programs with high scientific content in accordance with the University and Departmental Strategic Plans, the National Research Plan cycles, and the competitive guidelines of regional, national, European, and international calls for proposals. To achieve the highest standards for Research Quality Assessment, the dAeD also operates research areas that involve the educational programs directly promoted by the dAeD, including the implementation of second-level Master's programs and Doctoral Programs, research internationalization initiatives, and the transfer of experimental teaching experiences aimed at excellence.
The research conducted is funded by ministerial funds, direct and indirect EU funds, other dedicated funds, and fundraising. This is done to meet the demand for innovation and development through studies, research, and experiments designed to meet the interests of various public and/or private entities and the local area and/or socio-productive context in which the department operates. Third Mission activities complement and transfer experiences, actions, and projects to the local community, aiming to contribute to the social, economic, and environmental development of the relevant contexts, with particular attention to the actions undertaken with networks of businesses, public administrations, non-profit organizations, and other research, cultural, and scientific institutions. Training courses, events, projects, and activities are conducted within and outside the departmental structures to disseminate expertise and knowledge in non-academic settings, including through collaboration on projects of high social and ethical value for the identified beneficiaries and the established partnership networks.
The dAeD expresses its competitiveness and research objectives:
at European level
- with Horizon Europe, LIFE 2021-2027, Creative Europe 2021-2027, COST and other calls, through the Clusters: Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society; Digital, Industry & Space; Climate, Energy and Mobility
at the national level
- with the PNRR, through the missions: Digitalization, Innovation, Competitiveness, Culture and Tourism; Green Revolution and Ecological Transition; Inclusion and Cohesion;
