Partial or total tax exemption

Total exemption from payment of the Annual Comprehensive Contribution (COA)
  • students enrolled in the first academic year with a family ISEE of less than or equal to 22,000 euros;
  • students enrolled in subsequent years who:
    • belong to a family unit with an ISEE lower than or equal to 22 thousand euros
    • they are enrolled up to the first year out of course
    • in the case of enrollment in the second academic year: at least 10 CFU obtained in the twelve months preceding the date of August 10th
    • in the case of enrollment in subsequent academic years: at least 25 CFU obtained in the twelve months preceding August 10th.
  • students who meet the requirements to obtain the scholarship;
  • students with documented disabilities: handicap art. 3, paragraphs 1 and 3 L. 104/1992, or with a disability equal to or greater than 66%;
  • Foreign students receiving annual scholarships from the Italian Government under development cooperation programs, intergovernmental cultural and scientific agreements, and related executive programs. In academic years following the first, exemption is conditional upon the renewal of the scholarship by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as upon compliance with the merit requirements set forth in Article 8, paragraph 2, of Legislative Decree 68/2012, as previously communicated by the University to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
  • Students forced to interrupt their studies due to serious and prolonged illnesses, duly certified, for continuous periods of no less than six months (Article 10.4 of the Study Manifesto)
  • Students who have interrupted their studies for a period of at least two consecutive academic years; for each year in which they are not enrolled, these students, who intend to rejoin their studies, are required to pay a fixed fee of €250.00 - for each year in which they are not enrolled - provided that they have not undertaken any academic career activities during the academic years in which they interrupted their studies (Article 10.3 of the Study Manifesto);
  • female students for the year of birth of each child as well as students who have obtained a temporary suspension of their studies (see art. 10.4 of the Study Manifesto);
  • students enrolled in the first year graduated with a grade of 100/100;
  • Students identified pursuant to Laws 302/1990 and 266/2005 as victims of terrorism and organized crime, or children of victims of terrorism and organized crime, as well as victims of duty and their survivors declared as such according to the law, if one of the following requirements is met:
    • enrollment in the second academic year: at least 5 CFU obtained in the twelve months preceding August 10th;
    • Enrollment in academic years subsequent to the second: at least 18 credits obtained in the twelve months prior to August 10th.
      This exemption is granted to students belonging to the aforementioned category enrolled:
      • to a three-year degree course within the 2nd year outside the prescribed timeframe;
      • to a two-year master's degree course up to the 1st year outside the prescribed timeframe;
      • in a single-cycle master's degree program up to the third year outside of the prescribed timeframe.
        They cannot apply for part-time employment.
  • students detained or subjected to community measures if the following requirement is met:
    • Enrollment in the second academic year: at least 5 credits obtained in the twelve months preceding August 10th.
    • Enrollment in academic years subsequent to the second: at least 18 credits obtained in the twelve months prior to August 10th.
      This exemption is granted to students belonging to the aforementioned category, enrolled:
      • to a three-year degree course up to the 2nd year outside the prescribed timeframe;
      • to a two-year master's degree course up to the 1st year outside the prescribed timeframe;
      • in a single-cycle master's degree program up to the third year outside of the prescribed timeframe.
        They cannot apply for part-time employment.
  • Students enrolled no later than the first year of their studies, children of recipients of disability pensions, war orphans, children of disabled and war invalids, workers, or service invalids, declared as such according to the law, with an ISEE of up to 10,000 euros.

Partial exemption from payment of the COA
  • students enrolled in a year subsequent to the first, if the following requirements are jointly met:
    • ISEE greater than 22,000 euros and less than or equal to 30,000 euros
    • enrollment within the first year outside the prescribed timeframe;
    • second year enrollment: at least 10 CFU obtained in the twelve months preceding August 10th;
    • Enrollment in academic years after the second: at least 25 CFU obtained in the twelve months preceding August 10th.
  • Students with an ISEE of less than 30,000 euros, if the following requirement is met:
    • enrollment in the second academic year: at least 10 CFU obtained in the twelve months preceding August 10th;
    • Enrollment in academic years after the second: at least 25 CFU obtained in the twelve months preceding August 10th.
  1. 30% reduction in the second installment for those enrolled in master's degree courses who have obtained their bachelor's degree with a grade of 110/110 within the deadlines set by the respective regulations;
  2. 30% reduction in the amount of the second installment for students enrolled in the second year if, by October 31st, they obtain all the credits required by the study plan, with an average grade of no less than 27/30;
  3. 30% reduction in the amount of the second installment for students belonging to a family unit with at least one sibling enrolled in a degree program at the Mediterranean University in the same academic year.
  4. A 40% reduction in the second installment is available for students regularly enrolled at Università Mediterranea, who are up to date with their tuition and fees, who enroll in a second program at Università Mediterranea. The exemption is available only if both enrollments are for a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or single-cycle master's degree program, and applies to the second installment of the annual comprehensive tuition fee (COA), calculated on the second enrollment.
  • The following students are excluded from the possibility of benefiting from partial exemption (with the exception of the exemption referred to in point 4):
    • who, during the enrollment or online registration process, do not authorize the download of the ISEE-U from the INPS Database;
    • who, during the registration or online enrollment phase, do not include the REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION, where required;
    • with an ISEE for the entire family unit exceeding 40 thousand euros.

Partial or total exemptions from tuition and fees cannot be combined. If a student qualifies for multiple partial or total exemptions, the university administration will automatically award the exemption most favorable to the student.


 

Disciplinary sanctions: effects on taxes

For the academic year in which a disciplinary sanction exceeding a warning is imposed, any exemptions will be revoked and the full comprehensive fee will be required to be paid.
