The Università Mediterranea in recent years has activated an effective strategic planning process by identifying concrete actions aimed at making its presence and impact in the social and economic territorial context more and more incisive.
This planning is articulated in objectives and indicators specified within three Missions:
A - University Education;
B - Research, Innovation and Third Mission;
C - Institutional and General Services.
With the spirit of re-proposing, with even greater intensity, a system of strategic lines and concrete objectives aimed at the realisation of the three institutional missions, the Strategic Plan 2022 - 2024 was drawn up, from which the University Mission is extracted.
Mission A - University Education
With a view to the constant improvement of the quality of education, the University pays particular attention to the following system principles: centrality of the rights of the student component and its expectations, considering it a privileged and participatory partner in the activities that concern it; useful services for the inclusion of the largest possible number of the student component reached by the educational offer; innovative and advanced contents of teaching and training for the development of knowledge, skills, abilities and the development of the person, also in relation to internationalisation and PhD courses.
Mission B - Research & Innovation and Third Mission
The University intends to develop its activities related to research, innovation and the Third Mission with increasing commitment, focusing on: the quality of the research carried out; consolidating research infrastructures; strengthening PhD courses; internationalisation. With this in mind, the strategic lines identified for the three-year period 2022-2024 are defined in relation to: the quality of research and scientific production, encouraging international publications and networking; research infrastructures and laboratories, technological innovation, transfer and patents, paying greater attention to relations with companies, educational institutions, bodies and institutions, society; international cooperation, the definition of a research doctorate school.
Mission C - Institutional and General Services
The general purpose of the mission is to improve the transparency, efficiency, effectiveness and traceability of the institutional and general services of the University, with a view to a governance capable of integrating the requests and needs of the users (student body, staff, territory) with the management actions aimed at pursuing the institutional objectives of the University, also through organic communication policies. The term governance, which goes beyond mere government, refers precisely to the centrality that, in the organisation's management process, takes on the requirement of effectiveness, and with it everything that derives from it, understood as the ability to define and pursue strategic objectives and to evaluate one's actions to the extent that they are able to bring the organisation closer to the strategic horizon.
