Quality of Research
The Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria is committed to ensuring the quality of research and Third Mission activities in line with European standards.
Our rating system is based on:
1. Continuous improvement and merit:
- Evaluation is not a point of arrival, but a starting point for continuous improvement.
- The results are measured with objective and transparent indicators, based on international benchmarks.
- The system rewards merit and excellence to stimulate competitiveness.
2. Integrated planning and accountability:
- The evaluation follows an integrated logic that involves all the actors:
- Action planning: Departments define objectives based on their skills and available resources.
- Process activation: the actions needed to achieve the objectives are put in place.
- Resource Utilization: Resources are used efficiently to maximize results.
3. Internal evaluation and VQR:
- The University is inspired by the ANVUR (National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System) criteria for the AVA evaluation systems (Self-evaluation, Periodic Evaluation, Accreditation) .
- Promotes Quality Assurance of Departmental Research and Third Mission activities.
- It supports the activities for the initial and periodic accreditation of the Headquarters and the Study Courses.
- Encourage a culture of internal evaluation for continuous improvement.
- It raises awareness among the academic community on participation in the Evaluation of the Quality of Research Activities (VQR), on which the reward systems for the allocation of public financial resources depend.
Objective: a clear, efficient and transparent evaluation system that promotes excellence in research and in the Third Mission, strengthening the competitiveness of the University at national and international level.
