Erasmus+ Traineeship Mobility (SMT)
The Traineeship programme is carried out through the student completing a period of internship at institutions, bodies or companies based in other countries of the Union (for a maximum period of 12 months for each study cycle), at the end of which the home university recognises the training course completed abroad for the purposes of obtaining the qualification.
The internship period can also be completed within 12 months of obtaining the qualification, provided that the application for participation in the programme is submitted by the student before completing his/her studies.
Erasmus+ Long term call for academic year 2025/2026
A selection process has been announced for the 2025-2026 academic year for students of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria for the assignment of traineeship mobility grants under the Erasmus+ project. All the documents of the DR 499 call for applications dated 12/17/2025 are available on the Transparency page .
Erasmus+ Traineeship Long-term mobility ( Student Mobility for Traineeships – SMP) promotes the carrying out of traineeships and internships, lasting a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 12 months.
Are you a UniRC student and want to do an internship abroad?
The Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria gives you the opportunity to do so thanks to the Erasmus+ for Traineeship program.
If you do your internship while you are still enrolled you will participate as a student , if you do the internship after graduation you will leave as a recent graduate (but remember that the application for the call must be submitted before obtaining the qualification).
There are two types of Traineeship:
- Erasmus+ Traineeship Long term ( Student Mobility for Traineeships – SMP) which promotes the carrying out of internships and placements, lasting a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 12 months .
- Erasmus+ Traineeship Short term ( Student Mobility for Traineeships – SMP) which promotes the carrying out of traineeships and internships, with a minimum duration of 5 days and a maximum duration of 30 days . This action requires a virtual component that can be carried out before, during and after through online courses, seminars, introduction and specificity of the work to be designed/carried out. The virtual component is not mandatory for 3rd cycle students.
How will your internship be recognized?
If you are leaving as a student, we recommend that you obtain all the information on the recognition of CFU from your academic secretariat and/or Internship/Traineeship Office , in order to also define the Learning Agreement.
In the Learning Agreement, you, the Home University and the Host Company/Institution will agree on a work plan at the end of which you will achieve training results that the Host Company/Institution will have to certify and that the Home University undertakes to recognise, in the form of credits, in your training path.
How can you choose the organization/company?
You can consult the indicative lists of organizations and companies that have given their availability to host students for internship activities
You can also consult the Erasmus Intern Traineeship Portal , developed by the Erasmus Student Network.
