The Erasmus program—the European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students—is the most important and well-established European student mobility program, active since 1987. The current program, called Erasmus+, funds educational activities ranging from education to university training, youth, and sports. In the university context, the  Erasmus Study  and  Erasmus Traineeship programs provide European students with the opportunity to undertake an academically recognized study and/or internship experience abroad.
In the "Study" section, the program involves a period of study at other universities in the European Union, aimed at taking exams, completing a thesis, and/or completing a curricular internship. It is aimed at those enrolled in a degree or doctoral program (up to 12 months for each cycle), at the end of which the home university recognizes the educational program completed abroad for the purposes of awarding the degree.
In the "Traineeship" section, the program involves completing an internship or thesis research at institutions, organizations, or companies located in other EU countries (for a maximum of 12 months for each study cycle). At the end of the internship, the home university recognizes the internship (both curricular and formative) or thesis completed abroad for the purposes of awarding the degree. The internship may also be completed within 12 months of graduation (career orientation internship), provided the student submits the application for the program before completing their studies.
The Department of Agriculture encourages its students to participate in both the "study" and "traineeship" programs.
The regulations for the bachelor's and master's degree programs include an additional point toward the final degree grade for students who have participated in Erasmus projects.
The Department, under the direction of the Erasmus Committee, organizes information seminars close to the application deadline to clarify the technical aspects of participating in the project. Further meetings with students are organized both before departure and upon their return to develop the learning agreement and to ensure the recognition of credits earned abroad.

Recognition of activities abroad

The recognition of activities carried out abroad occurs according to the criteria established by the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) of the European Commission , taking into account the compatibility of the study programmes and learning outcomes achieved abroad with those required by the relevant degree programme.

One ECTS credit corresponds to one University Training Credit (CFU)

To obtain recognition of their training activities, mobility beneficiaries must request a final transcript of records (Transcript of Records ) from the host university. This transcript must include the results of the training activities undertaken, such as exams taken and the corresponding results and credits.

The training activities undertaken abroad must be consistent with the learning contract (the Learning Agreement ) prepared and approved before departure and/or with any changes made during the mobility period.

Activities undertaken that do not appear in the Learning Agreement or any variation thereof may not benefit from recognition.

For grade conversion, the cumulative grade distribution tables available on the dedicated page apply.
