Orientation
The departmental orientation activities for incoming students consist of:
- participation in Orientation Fairs in Calabria and Sicily, aimed at promoting the educational offerings, research activities, and services offered by the University and dAeD;
- participation in the Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO) promoted by the University, in which students from the final years of the secondary schools of the University network participated;
- the promotion, through specific agreements between the department and some higher education institutions, of PCTOs that were held in a mixed mode (in person and online) on topics relating to Architecture and Design;
- meetings at the dAeD with students in the final years of higher education institutes, including laboratory activities;
- on-demand orientation activity aimed at individual applicants or small groups of students;
- orientation activities in schools;
- Welcome Day for new students enrolled in the Architecture and Design degree courses.
Finally, outgoing orientation activities aimed at supporting undergraduates and graduates and guiding them towards the world of work are carried out by the University Orientation Office, which offers job matching services, assistance with preparing resumes, and other services upon request.
The following services were provided for ongoing orientation activities :
- reception activities held by the Degree Course Coordinators;
- student reception by teachers, during the scheduled times published on the website;
- presentations of the subjects chosen by the student by the teachers.
The Department contributes to outgoing orientation also through the provision of type F CFUs and curricular internships (see 3.1.4) and through the ALUMNI ARCHITECTURE activities.
